...Well this took a while to complete. Really, I have no great excuse, but at least I finally sat down and got to writing the first chapter... I guess...? I'msosorry. It isn't all that long but I promise to make the second chapter longer This is basically just an introduction chapter to what'll be going on.

xX Chapter 1: A Favor Xx


"Oh come on!"

Kiba could only watch as the red-head stomped away from his outstretched arms. He pouted and took the few steps needed to rest a hand on her shoulder and spin her around to face him. Instead of her face he saw a fist flying at him. He stumbled backwards and just barely avoided her punch. Instead his back met with the cold stones beneath their feet; black spots appeared across Kiba's field of vision.

"Leave me the hell alone!" she spat before she turned on her heels and continued on her way towards a nearby car. This time Kiba didn't bother to chase after her. He managed to pick himself up from the ground and rub the back of his head. By that time the girl had gotten in to her car and driven out of sight.

"Great job, idiot," Kiba turned at the sound of another feminine voice from behind him, "and to think I spent so much time trying to set up this date for you."

"You know I'm not going to give up, Rei," he replied with a grin as his eyes looked over the brunette before him, "I'll somehow convince her that we're perfect for each other." She rose her eyebrows at his words while a small smile pulled at the corners of her mouth. She then waved a hand as if to swat away his ridiculous fantasies.

"Yeah, yeah. We might as well have you start over with someone else. Miss Karui over there probably won't want you within a mile of her after tonight," Rei sighed, "What exactly did you do to her, anyway?"

"What makes you think I did anything?"
"Kiba, you always do something. Now cut the crap and just tell me."

"Fine," he grumbled with his arms crossed across his chest, "Apparently I'm 'too protective.' What the hell is that even suppose to mean?"

"I'm pretty sure she's trying to say that you're being your usual self. Remember your last girlfriend?"

"I'd rather forget her," Kiba walked over and stuck his arm through the crook of her elbow, "We have something much more important to talk about, don't you think?"

"Oh, right," Rei frowned as she was lead down the sidewalk by her friend, "You did finish writing that paper due in a couple days, didn't you?" They both came to an abrupt halt at her words. She stumbled a bit but somehow caught her balance with the help of Kiba's hold on her arm. She straightened up and looked over at the confused boy beside her.

"What paper?"

"You've got to be kidding me," she whispered before a grin broke out across her face, "You really forgot?" Rei then burst out in a fit of giggles as Kiba stared at her with his jaw slack.

"Really, what paper? How long?"

Rei shook her head, unable to answer because of the tears streaking down her face from her laughter. She simply leaned against his arm and dug her face into the folds of his hoodie's sleeve. Her back shook from laughing for a few more moments before she looked up at him and smirked, "You're so screwed."

"Consider yourself lucky that I'm here to help you." Rei scoffed as she looked over at Kiba's bed in his dorm. He was splayed across the rumpled covers with a pencil twirling around his fingers. His eyes left the piece of wood briefly to glance at the laptop that rested on the floor in front of her.

"Very," he smirked and went back to fiddling with his pencil, "You said you'd type while I say the words."

"That's the thing. You haven't said a word for the past ten minutes." Rei scowled and placed her hands behind her to lean back on. Kiba kicked his feet over the side of the bed and leaned forward to take a look at the screen which was obviously empty of a finished paper. He couldn't help but to groan at the sight.

"I'm better with physical stuff than this shit," Kiba muttered.
"Like sports, right?"

"Well, not exactly," he grinned and sat himself on the floor. He then leaned back against the side of the bed and let out a low whistle, "I think you have a pretty good idea on what that is."

Rei narrowed her eyes at him, "You don't mean..."

"Oh, yes... I do," Kiba gestured around him with a wave of his hand, "Just ask any of the fine ladies on campus."

She put her face in her hands at his words, "No no no, I don't need that mental image!" Rei pulled her knees up to her chest and continued to stay in that curled up position. Kiba had been a friend of hers for quite a while and even the thought of it sent a shiver of disgust down her spine. Yet at the same time she couldn't help but to feel some disappointment from having heard that a fair share of other girls had seen him in such a way. There may have actually been some jealousy if she hadn't pushed the thought away.

Kiba chuckled, "It's fun to see you squirm, though it may be even more entertaining to see you squirm in other ways." He barely had time to finish his sentence before a pillow was chucked at his head. He let out a strange yelp and tried to dodge but it instead hit him square in the chest. Kiba looked down at the pillow laying in his lap before he turned his attention to the girl across from him.

His eyes widened in surprise at the sight of Rei with a light blush on her cheeks. She seemed to have tried to cover it with her hair but that plan wasn't very successful. Kiba smirked and inched towards her until he was just a few inches away.

"I've never seen you become violent, you know," he leaned forward so he was able to see her eyes behind her locks, "I have to admit... I kinda like it."

"Well don't get used to it," Rei replied with a frown, "The whole punching and throwing thing just doesn't work for me."

"Somehow I managed to bring that side out of you, though," he grinned in accomplishment, "Maybe I'll be able to do that again in the future."

She shook her head, "No way. Let's just get back to your doomed paper. Better yet, let's come up with a way to get this done." Rei pulled the laptop closer to herself and poised her fingers over the keys. She paused for a second before she rested her hands back in her lap and looked over at Kiba.

"How about we ask Karui for help? She's pretty smart and all." he suggested hopefully with a smile on his face.

"No can do. Like I already said, she wants nothing to do with you."
"Alright, alright....Wait, how about you do the majority of the writing?"
"Quit screwing around and get serious about this!"

Kiba held up his hands in defense, "I am! I was thinking if you do the writing I'll hook you up with one of my friends or whatever."

"I don't need your help with my love life," Rei grumbled and turned back to the screen. After a moment she began to type out a simple introduction to the paper's topic, even with what she said in mind.

"I knew I could count on you, beautiful." Kiba nudged her side with his elbow and watched in enjoyment as the blush came back to her cheeks, "Now all I ask is that you do one more thing for me."

Rei paused from her typing, "What is it?"

"Help me win back Karui."
